Connecticut Unveils the First Christmas Movie Trail
Connecticut is set to become a holiday movie destination like no other with the launch of the nation’s first Christmas Movie Trail this November. Announced by Governor Ned Lamont, the trail celebrates the state's growing reputation as a prime location for filming Christmas movies, featuring over 20 spots where beloved holiday films have come to life.
“Connecticut embodies everything that makes Christmas films special – the warmth, charm, and timeless beauty that viewers love,” said Andrew Gernhard, a film producer who has worked on several holiday movies in the state.
The Christmas Movie Trail will give visitors the chance to relive favorite holiday movie moments by exploring iconic filming locations. With the festive season around the corner, it's the perfect time to experience the magic of Connecticut’s picturesque towns and landscapes that make for a perfect holiday movie backdrop.
Win a VIP Experience
To mark the launch, the state is hosting a contest to select 12 lucky winners who will attend an exclusive event on November 13, 2024. The launch will include appearances by Hallmark stars Wes Brown, Erin Cahill, and Michael Rady. One contest winner will even be chosen at random to appear as an extra in an upcoming holiday movie, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at how Christmas magic is made.
“This contest will give fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at how that magic comes to life and allows them to be a part of it. It’s an extraordinary way to celebrate not only the spirit of the season but also everything that makes Connecticut such an inspiring place for storytelling,” added Gernhard.
